Despite those that believe in Ms. Byrne and her “secrets”, there aren’t any laws of attraction whereby you simply think your way into “making more monie”, unless it is part of efforts to actually do what’s required.
Yes, from now on, you can take a hard pass on any of the modern sessions or seminars provided by today’s charlatans and shysters, metaphilosophers and metaphysicians. This also applies to any other non-aligned, trans-religious progressives that promise to unlock for you the so-called sciences of success and whatever “harmonic wealth” is. Trust me when I say that the universe is not at your command, nor is it at your beck and call, and has better things to do than line up in joyous support of your “awakening”.
Just as there are no angels and demons, or psychics and mediums, there are no supernatural planes to access in order to lift you up, nor are there any “deep state” conspiracies keeping you down. Let me repeat; you do not need to spend your financial resources, nor your even more valuable time on modern day snake-oil salesmen and women and their products, no matter how life-changing they say they are.
In my own experiences with them, I’ve found that, yes, they are certainly good at what they do, which is to present a smartly-dressed, slick-talking image of what success looks and sounds like. From the tailored suits to the use of power language, they leave you feeling fired up, brimming with confidence and ready to take on the world. Unfortunately, shortly after, your source of inspiration is off to the next stop on the tour, and you are still you; another victim of the motivational-industrial complex and its amassed force of inspirational, aspirational, pseudo-psychological, personal and professional behavioral agents.
These people and their quotes, when we buy into them, make us feel the same as we would if we actually had accomplished something. You might question why that’s so bad, and that’s a fair query. In my opinion, though, it’s like eating empty calories. It’s filling and may get us through the day, but with nothing of real benefit. The result? It reduces our willingness to take real action because we feel fulfilled.
I think it is fast food for the mind and fast food, as everyone knows, is full of chemicals and preservatives that for many, tastes good but has no substance. Fast food will get those that consume it through the day, but will never serve them well long-term. This “product” is the same. Full of motivational catchphrases, it provides a momentary adrenaline rush and instant gratification but nothing else. It also gets those attending through the day – or better stated, the event – and maybe the ride home, but will not serve anyone’s future well and certainly will not do anything concrete in helping one “make more monie”.
Another thing these success sherpas won’t do, is divulge exactly what they did to get to where they are, as, why would they? Their circular strategy for success is to stay successful by telling you via a carefully crafted presentation full of smoke and mirrors how you can be successful without really telling you anything. To give you a real account of what they did to get where they are would be to provide you with the tools to do the same, making you their potential competition – someone that may cut into their market.
What they strive to do – all of ’em – is to follow the professional speaker road map to success. Their M.O. is to ensure one and all attendees are pumped up enough to leave the session energized with a sense of purpose that they are poised to do something – something great – that will be revealed to them on the next stop or “back of the room” product purchase. What‘s even worse for many is that when they buy into the feeling that their infused motivation is real and necessary for them, only that it ran out, they buy more – more of everything – for repeated endorphin hits. Great for the speaker, not so much for all the listeners.
